SAP EHS Component Extensions
SAP is coming up very proactively in SAP EHS space and recently
announced component extension EHS 2.0 for customers in May 2012. I thought of
starting with features of SAP EHS component extension 1.0, which is mainly for
enhanced Incident Management application (It’s time to say good bye to CBIH82).
Here are few features of SAP EHSM 1.0
- v The ability to undertake end to end processing of the recording of incident, review of incident, investigation, risk rating, planning/execution of actions and closure of incidents
- v User friendly web front end (SAP Portal) for recording of incidents and accessing analytical reports
- v Different services for simple incident reporting, detail incident reporting, near miss and safety observations.
- v Save as draft functionality for incidents during initial incident recording
- v Integration with SAP HR data for searching involved persons involve in Incident from SAP HR Master Data (Help in data validation for name of person). Option such as Choose Me, Choose from Address book (HR Master Data) and Enter manually (for visitors etc.)
- v Ability to add witness details in Incident Management application
- v Ability to attach documents/photo’s or add link to external internet websites for reference during initial recording, incident review, investigation, actions
- v Tracking of processes and activities such as investigation and tasks
- v Standard workflows for Incident Lifecycle, Investigations, Tasks/Actions, Fatality, Absences in HR etc.
- v Standard process for carrying out risk assessment for Incidents with 3 parameters i.e. Likelihood, Frequency and Severity
- v Authorisation to stakeholders/users for specific set of activities during life cycle of incident and hazards
- v Analytical Reporting – Around 23 analytical reports

about EHS 2.0 and EHS 3.0 very soon.

Yeah You are right. SAP EHS is going to get full makeover to be SAP EHSM. Would be waiting for your inputs on version 3.0

Yes, EHS module in SAP is going for total makeover. Even new IPHONE app is great for safety observations and incidents. Looking forward to have new functionalities in EHS 3.0
