Hello Friends
Yup…..writing after long time, but as you may be aware there were many changes happening in my life from last 3 months. Major change among them is shifting from MUMBAI to MOMBASA.
I left my favorite city Mumbai on 06.07.08 (interesting date) and reached Mombasa. Mombasa is a port town of Kenya, which is located on Indian Ocean. Now I am here in Mombasa from last 3 months and enjoying life at new city.
I came here in Mombasa as an SAP EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) Consultant on behalf of TCS for doing assignment on implementation of ERP solution for Steel Roofing Industries located in Mombasa, Nairobi and Durban, South Africa.
In last these 3 months, few changes happened in my family life as well. My wife Aparna had left for Oxford University at UK for doing Masters in Environmental Change and Management. She has reached UK in Sep 2008 and now settled at new place.
Now let me come back to Title of Blog – MUMBAI to MOMBASA, this journey was quite interesting for me and I have found many similarities between both the cities. Mumbai and Mombasa both are located near Sea and famous for their night life and spirit of people. Mombasa is the second largest city in Kenya and centre of the coastal tourism industry of Kenya.
Mombasa is a major trade centre and home to Kenya's only large seaport, the Kilindini Harbour। "Kilindini" is an old Swahili (Local language of Kenya) term that means "deep". The port is so called because the channel is naturally very deep.
Mombasa city itself is not a main attraction for tourists, although we have visit
ed Old Town, Fort Jesus and other places of tourist interest। Few Hindi movies such as Company and Vishwatama etc have been filmed in Mombasa and Nairobi। Any body, who is interested in Indian food and Indian Movies, Cinemax- Nyali is best place for them। You can find eating joints such as Bollywood Bytes, Punjabi Dhaba etc। which are my personal favorites in Mombasa।
